This pink and grey bridge features a pedestrian friendly path that links to Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The path is split between bikers on one end, subway down the middle, and pedestrians on the other end so you don't feel like you're going to get run over like on the other bridges. Unlike the Brooklyn bridge, which was under construction during my visit, the Williamsburg Bridge is much less touristy and crowded with equally cool views. The path is also filled with interesting sidewalk art, including rainbows, and Paul Richard drip art.
-Manhattan Bridge-
New York City is filled with endless photo opportunities. During this visit to New York, I visited some of the bridges and off-the-beaten path museums to get a unique view of the city.
To purchase the NYC prints, visit our Architecture Gallery. Here are some of the points of interest: -Williamsburg Bridge:
The Manhattan Bridge also offers excellent photo opportunities along the pedestrian path leading to the Lower East Side. This bridge connects to Chinatown with a bird's eye view of the waterfront highway and Downtown. I almost risked my phone taking photos through the fence, but it was worth it!
-New York City Transit Museum-
While everyone was in line for the MoMa Rain Room (6 hour wait), the Transit Museum in Brooklyn had no wait and offers a step back in time to historic New York City. The museum is located underground in an actual retired subway stop where visitors can view all the retro cars from the 20's to present. It's interesting to see the city progress so rapidly, from horse and buggy, to trolley, to subways without AC, to the modern day subway.
High Line-
This is a one-of-a-kind park that brings nature into the city in a unique, above ground location. The High Line is a pedestrian-only elevated rail line that has recently been converted into a park. It is much less touristy than Central Park, although still bustling with pedestrians. The park offers views of the Chelsea and is a great refuge from the city as it has fountains, lounge chairs, many varieties of flowers, and street vendors.
-Amorino Gelato -
New York in the summertime is hotter than a sauna. Every time I went outdoors, I tried to keep cool by loading up on drinks and popsicles. While traveling through the Greenwich village, I discovered a very unique gelato shop. This gelateria's only US location turns an ordinary gelato in to a bouquet of flowers.
