Malibu is 27 miles of scenic beauty and filled with photo opportunities. The region has epic coastal views, nature, and wilderness that will make you feel far from the bustling city. Santa Monica has quintessential California beaches, an iconic pier, and amusement parks which makes it the perfect place to take visitors. Here are the top places to photograph in Malibu and Santa Monica:
1. Malibu Sand Dunes A large beach-side slope of sand on the northernmost stretch of Malibu. Fun to climb, slide down, repeat.
2. Point Mugu (0:31 - 0:35)
The location sight of multiple car commercials, Point Mugu is the last stretch of PCH before you reach Ventura and not to be missed. It features beautiful untouched coastline where the road is wedged in between a large prominent rock and the sheer cliff-side. 3. Malibu Creek State Park (3:06 - 3:34) Wilderness park with rocky cliffs for hiking, rivers, a nature center, and plenty of camping grounds. Many movies and shows were filmed here.
Santa Monica, which borders Malibu to the south, also features plenty of photographic gems. Here are my favorites:
4. The Santa Monica Pier (1:32 - 1:38) Great for people watching. There is an amusement park on the pier where you can get excellent views of the city from the Ferris wheel. 5. Santa Monica Palisades Park Beautiful park atop the Santa Monica cliffs. 6. Driving Down PCH The drive from Santa Monica is one of my favorite drives in California. The further towards Ventura you travel, the more rugged the coastline becomes. Comments are closed.
