Arizona is only about five hours from Palm Springs, but it feels like a world away. The landscapes are much more Southwestern and rugged. As soon as you approach the Arizona border, the Saguaro cactus pops up everywhere.
During the photo trip, we visited The Grand Canyon, Sedona, Tucson, Phoenix, Yuma, and Mojave Desert. You can purchase the final limited edition prints here.
Sedona
Sedona is the spiritual and resort vacation center of Arizona. The landscape features incredible rock formations to photograph, similar to the ones I have seen in Utah.
Grand Canyon
In the Northern part of Arizona lies one of the 8 Wonders of the World, the Grand Canyon. The park is accessible via a bus and draws tourists from all over the world. In fact, when photographing the park, it is nice to add a few subjects to the composition in order to show the vastness. The park itself changes colors during different times of the day. When I visited the East Rim during winter, the so the rock formations turned a purple color during sunset and were capped with snow.
Tuscon
Tuscon featured many historic Native American sites. My favorite was the mission built by the Spanish in 1692 calledXavier del Bac. Outside the mission, there were craft shops that featured works from the Tohono O'odham tribe.
