The Hoover Dam is one of the most dramatic man made wonders, and one of my favorite spots to photograph during the Nevada photo trip. The dam is in the middle of nowhere, providing power to the desert states of California, Nevada, and Arizona.
About a 30 minute ride from Las Vegas, the scenery turns into the Wild Wild West- completely barren, rugged red cliffs and not one tree in sight. Power lines crisscross the desert basin in every direction. Finally, the massive block of concrete that is the Hoover Dam appears towering 726 feet above the Colorado River. It includes impressive statues done in Art Deco style. This video shows the behind the scenes look at the photography inspired by the dam. Comments are closed.
