Recently I published the top user-voted article on Quora for the "Best Kept Secrets in Los Angeles" and decided to tailor my post to photographers. Here are the off-the beaten path recommendations for top secret locations where you can get excellent shots in the city:
_ 1. Airport Park, adjacent to the LAX In & Out Burger. If you want to see airplanes literally fly a few feet over your head.
2. Los Angeles County Arboretum and Botanic Garden
Lush Gardens with flora from far away lands. There are also peacocks present. _
4. LA River
Some people regard the LA River as just a giant eye sore, but in actuality it is one of the best places to photograph. There are historic bridges dating back to the early 1900s decorated along the route close the downtown. Many of the bridges have been featured in countless movies, music videos, and car commercials. The views from the bridge face the rail yards and the city. One of the best ways to photograph this area is from the Southbound Amtrak.
5. Park Row Bridge
Near Elysian Park, this bridge overlooks the traffic going towards the Downtown LA skyline. It is perfect for night time long exposure shots.
6. Kenneth Hahn Recreation Area
You know those cool tourist pics you wanted to get that show the downtown with the mountains in the background?
